WowwoW Basic Setup Guide

WowwoW Setup and usage guide.
-It is as simple as possible to be usefull to the Newbie and the expert user.
-It is however required a basic Computer knowlege, if you dont have it, you shouldnt be running a server.
-2.0 .NET framework required, you can get this at microsoft's website.

This guide is intended for the average user that just wants to run the server and not modify antything. Please look at other references for that.

1. Download WowwoW from http://wowwow.1.vg/ website.
- Download the server files and the map files if you dont have them from earlyer releases.

2. Go to the location where you donwloaded the file (probably desktop) and open it with winrar (www.win-rar.com).Extract the contents to the location where you want to keep your server software.
- Now take your Maps folder and put it in the WowwoW Root folder overwriting.

3. Double click on WowwoW.exe , after it has started it will tell you in the first 10 lines it has created a config.xml file. Leaving WowwoW.exe open go to your WowwoW root folder, right click on config.xml and open with Notepad or any other text editor.

- Now save the file and close.

4. Go back to the open WowwoW.exe console. Hit enter and if you got windows just hit ok. That's because we dont have funds yet for complete protection software.

5. When you get the 3 Listening on port... etc messages, it means the server is ready.
Remember to set as exeption and set these ports open : 3724 , 8085 , 8088 in your firewall if you want others to join.

6. To join the server you need your wow to be version 1.8.0. then go to the wow root folder, find realmlist.wtf and open it with bloc notes.
Edit it so that it should look like, if you're logging on from the server pc: set realmlist 127.0.0.1 and if from another pc: set realmlist YourInternetIp
Open the game and go to step 7.

7. Your GM account is admin, password changeme, you might want to change it by typing .password WhatYouWant in game by pressing enter. (everyone can do this)
For account creation go on http://YourServerIp:8088/account.htm in your web browser. (Download Firefox).

GUIDE: How to connect to a WoWWoW server and play the game.

Step 1:
Download latest wowwow release (0.2.4 at the moment)
Read this guide on how to set up your server: http://wowwow.1.vg/viewtopic.php?t=3
Install WoW and apply ONLY official patches 1.8.x (1.8.0 or 1.8.3 or 1.8.4)
If you have a higher version and need to downgrade delete wow.exe and run repair.exe. That will reset your client to version 1.0.0. After that upgrade to the above mentioned patches

Step 2:
You Must DELETE Your WDB, WTF and Interface folder from your wow game directory. (You can't join if you don't delete these..Your game will freeze at "Connecting" screen)

Step 3:
Open realmlist.wtf file from your WoW directory and EDIT it with this info:
"set realmlist " and save it.
(example: "set realmlist 172.0.0.0") - without the "" of course

Step 4:
Run game, and enter SAME login and password
Example:
Account Name:Hello
Account Password:Hello
(your account will be created automatically)

Step 5:
Make a character and enter the game.
When inside the game you might want to change your char password.
To do this type .password
(Now remember this one since its your new password)

When you look at the world from this point of view, you can see there is a real need for solidarity,

or hunger,

that cannot read.

3 . and... you have a computer!

Stunning

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
